Bodywork
Helping the horse find fluidity and freedom in movement
My approach to bodywork
Originally trained in Equine Structural Integration by Joseph Freeman, I have continued to study and expand my toolbox when it comes to helping horses’ bodies feel better.
Horses are athletes and use their bodies hard every day. Like all athletes, they benefit from massage, fascial work, and stretching of connective tissue. This work can improve their range of motion, reduce the tension in their bodies, and help them to recover from injury. And, as a side benefit, horses often feel more connected to and trusting of people after sessions!
Most sessions last 60-90 minutes, and each session is different, driven by the needs of the individual horse.
“Jim is one of the most valuable “tools” on our farm. Without him, I am confident that several of our horses would struggle to continue to perform at the level we require. His work not only helps with existing issues but prevents new ones from arising. My horses love his calm quiet demeanor and his intuitive nature allows him to notice any issues well before my vet notices a problem.”
